Position Summary

Whitman Hospital & Medical Clinics is looking for an experienced Cook with a commitment to providing high quality food services to our patients and Harvest Home Café patrons. Our Cook will develop new menu items, assist in managing inventory, perform batch and ala carte cooking, ensure safe use and care of equipment and food, and provide quality customer service.

Position Details

Full Time
Day Shift
Rotating schedule may include weekends

  • Prepare food for patients, staff, and visitors as well as catered events using standardized recipes, menus, and portion guides
  • Follow all food safety, cleaning, and sanitizing standards
  • Train others as needed in proper cooking techniques, guest service, equipment usage, portion control, sanitation, and safety procedures
  • Coordinate with staff to communicate inventory needs to Manager
  • Properly store, label, and utilize all inventory and unused portions
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years of cooking experience
  • Valid Washington State Food Handler’s Permit
  • ServSafe or equivalent certification
  • Hepatitis A vaccination (available from WHMC upon hire)
