DM&A is searching for an Interim Clinical Nutrition Manager.

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Responsible for on-site management of the patient and/or staff food services, cafeteria, coffee cart, and vending service contracts, and clinical nutrition care services and programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and The Joint Commission requirements.
  • Oversight and management of sanitation and HACCP.
  • Quality assurance and performance improvement oversight of food and clinical nutrition program to ensure local, state, and federal regulation compliance.
  • Directs clinical nutrition care program.
  • Conduct inspections/audits for food service contracts to ensure high-quality food and service performance standards are met.
  • Direct and conduct quality assurance audits.
  • Management and oversight of clinical nutrition care program.
  • Oversees procurement of food and items necessary for day-to-day operations.
  • Establishes enteral formulary.
  • Oversees contract management of food contracts and services.
  • Oversight and management of Food and Clinical Nutrition Services personnel including Food Service Supervisors, Food and Clinical Service Supervisor, Nutrition Partners, and Registered Dietitians to include performance evaluation and competencies and scheduling oversight.
  • Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained.
  • Oversight and management of Food and Clinical Nutrition Services personnel.
  • Oversight and management of Food, Clinical Nutrition, and Room Service Operation.
  • Evaluates and verifies food and clinical nutrition employee performance and competency.
  • Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained.
  • Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing including presentation of food in an acceptable manner, following recipes and according to established standards.
  • Participates in menu and recipe development including food and product evaluation.
  • Policy and procedure development for the food and clinical nutrition program
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining Clinical Nutrition Care Standards.
  • Provides input and oversight of clinical nutrition and foodservice budgets. Monitors budget plan and day-to-day fiscal procurement.
  • Implements and monitors budget plans for areas of responsibility.
  • Oversight, development, and management of disaster plan in accordance with the facility Disaster/Emergency Plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic Qualifications:

  Experience

  • Minimum two (2) years of food service or clinical experience within the last three (3) years in a health care setting.

  Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in food and/or nutrition science.

  License, Certification, Registration

  • Registered Dietitian required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the American Dietetic Association and American Society for Parental and Enteral Nutrition standards.
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills required.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supervisory/management experience preferred.
