This position is responsible for preparation of the retail foods and catering at GVMH and ensures items are mise en place.  This position is responsible to prepare meals according to approved recipes and in correct amounts using batch cookery to minimize waste, creatively using leftovers and ensuring food freshness.  This position assists in the café as needed and is responsible to keep café staff informed of foods prepared.   This position needs to be familiar with all menu items offered and equipment in the café areas, deli, grill, fryer, grab ‘n go, hot line, salad bar, merchandisers, vending, etc. and pricing.  As part of café team may provide cash handling and perform register transactions.  Assists with retail merchandising, up-selling, proper sanitation, and other duties as necessary to provide quality food and quality service at a “10” level.  Attends huddles and tastings held daily.  Keeps noticeable presence in café during meal periods.  This position prepares and sets up special functions/catering (hot food, snacks, etc.) as needed.  This position needs to maintain a friendly and cheerful demeanor at all times while on duty.

Works weekdays 9-10 days per two-week pay period as scheduled.  Weekend coverage up to 16 weekends per year as scheduled.

Current Henry County food handler card required.
