More than 200 healthcare food service and environmental services executives, operators and their teams from all over the country (including friends from Australia and New Zealand) gathered in San Diego, California for the 12th Annual Good to Best Healthcare Food Service Educational Conference. These industry professionals came ready to learn a variety of topics such as leadership, emotional intelligence, latest healthcare trends, disaster preparedness, and patient care from professional speakers as well as industry peers.
Keynote Speakers
Curt Steinhorst, a Certified Keynote Speaker at The Center for Generational Kinetics, spoke about generational differences in attitudes, behaviors, values and traits, then how to work well with each generation.
Sara Canaday, a Leadership Keynote Speaker, talked about emotional intelligence, how to recognize it and use it to collaborate, communicate, and influence others at work and in our personal lives.
Todd Davis, Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer of FranklinCovey, walked us through the steps to build effective relationships. Good to Best attendees received his new bestselling book, “Get Better: 15 Proven Practices to Build Effective Relationships at Work.” Todd was kind enough to sign books after after his presentation.
Breakout Sessions
The Good to Best agenda featured breakout sessions and lunch-and-learns for attendees to take deep-dives into specific topics of interest such as room service implementation, preparing for surveys, trends in healthcare IT, the future of patient self-ordering, and project design.
